![]() More modern, single image, techniques however, can actually add extra detail that wasn’t there to begin with. Fractal techniques for enlarging images have existed for many years, but are really just retaining existing detail, during enlargement, in a plausible way. Super-resolution is a term with many modern meanings, but basically involves those techniques which add detail to poor resolution and grainy images. The evidence must be thin or the OP wouldn't hesitate so.Super-Resolution Overview of Super-Resolution Techniques, What are we Discussing Here? It's pretty standard to illustrate your point with images in a thread like this. I can't imagine is another way of saying show me. The beta is free to try, maybe it would expand your imagination I have both C1 and LR and find that the definition of "intuitive," generally speaking, is "what I've gotten used to and know how to use."Īgreed, intuitive is often 90% what you are used to. ![]() It sounds like X-Tranformer forces you to take extra steps and consume additional disc space just to reach the same outcome. That imagination thing again but I agree color is a strength of C1 especially the tools to adjust it. I have used C1 for years and yes it does a nice job with detail for raf but in many cases Iridient (and some others) can do even better. I can't imagine is a pretty weak argument which says more about your lack of imagination than providing any real evidence to support your position. I am willing to be persuaded, but would like to see some evidence for a thread like this. It would be even better if you supplied the raw file so that others could show what they can produce from it in C1. Perhaps you could give us a C1 and XTransformer comparison so we could see what you're so holy toledo / sure as hell fired up about. I have both C1 and LR and find that the definition of "intuitive," generally speaking, is "what I've gotten used to and know how to use." It sounds like X-Tranformer forces you to take extra steps and consume additional disc space just to reach the same outcome. I never have any issues with white balance. I also can't imagine that the colors are any better the colors and tonal possibilities are amazing in Capture One. I can't imagine that you got better detail from X-Transformer than I can get from Capture One, which renders absolutely amazing detail from Fuji raw files. This is quite a game changer - i can now have my cake and eat it too ! I like lightroom's intuitive controls better. This is great - i can now convert all these fuji raw to dng and use lightroom and Camera raw. Capture one was my go-to software for Fuji RAWs and.holy toledo - I can't find any thing lacking in the iridient version - in fact i thought the iridient version looked a bit sharper and sure as hell got better white balanced colors - i've got a new favourite software now - it's Iridient. I tested Iridient's X-Transformer side by side by Capture One. Would I still buy it, feeling as I do now? The answer is yes, I find having the option available, working relatively smoothly with my workflow, and at a reasonable cost, is worthwhile.Ĭare to share any recommended settings for batch converting files? I'm mainly interested in just getting the detail sorted before editing in LR, really struggling with landscape results from the x-trans put straight through LR. ![]() So, I find that (to me), rather than being a magic wand, the x-transformer is a useful sddition to my toolbox, which I will use selectively. I find it hard to say which type of image benefits from Iridient, I'm still learning here. The other is one I didn't expect - I don't find that every image benefits from the Iridient conversion, for some images the LR conversion looks better (to me). Now I've moved back to processeng my raf files in LR, then with certain images applying the Iridient conversion as a LR plugin, and then synchronising with the original LR conversion (except for sharpening, which I set at 0). At first I ran every image through it and processed the dngs in LR, giving me huge raw files (form compressed Fuji raws). I've had the x-transformer for about 3 weeks and like it. ![]()
